“Learning Together. Collaborating Better. Caring Smarter”
The delivery of healthcare has evolved from the efforts of individual professionals to the coordinated work of multidisciplinary teams. In an increasingly complex healthcare environment, the ability of health professionals to collaborate effectively across disciplines has become essential for ensuring patient safety, improving health outcomes, and delivering person-centered care. Preparing learners for such collaborative practice requires a fundamental shift in how health professions education is conceptualized, designed, and implemented.
Interprofessional Education (IPE) provides a powerful framework through which learners from different health professions learn with, from, and about one another to foster mutual respect, shared responsibility, effective communication, and teamwork. By breaking down traditional professional silos, IPE promotes a culture of collaboration that better reflects the realities of contemporary healthcare practice.
The theme of NCHPE 2026, “Interprofessional Collaboration in Healthcare Education,” recognizes the growing importance of collaborative learning and practice in addressing the healthcare challenges of the twenty-first century. It highlights the need for educational institutions to create learning environments that nurture teamwork, leadership, ethical practice, and collective problem-solving among future healthcare professionals.
This conference seeks to bring together educators, researchers, healthcare practitioners, administrators, and policymakers to explore innovative approaches, share experiences, and advance scholarship in interprofessional education. Through dialogue, collaboration, and exchange of ideas, NCHPE 2026 aims to inspire transformative educational practices that prepare graduates to work effectively in interprofessional teams and contribute meaningfully to improved healthcare delivery.
As we look toward the future, the conference reaffirms the belief that excellence in healthcare begins with learning together. By fostering collaboration across professions, we can build a healthcare workforce that is better equipped to meet the complex needs of individuals, communities, and health systems worldwide.
